Personalized Medical Photoprotection: Determining Optimal Measures for Susceptible Patient Groups
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Increasing knowledge regarding the deleterious effects of sun exposure and mechanisms photodamage has enabled development tailored photoprotection strategies based on skin type existence underlying conditions. Dermatologists play an essential role as they identify specific needs their patients. This translates into recommendations suitable protection measures, both in terms length time day these patients can be exposed to use products. Purpose: Our purpose was overview optimal for with dermatological pathologies or alterations. Methods: evidence supports sunscreens containing not only organic inorganic filters but also non-filtering biological ingredients that enhance sunscreen efficacy. Examples biologicals are DNA repair enzymes, antioxidants including vitamins other agents, those botanical origin. Results: Oral is area increasing interest contributes integral against sun-related Conclusion: article provides care specialist a simple, easy-to-use guide appropriate measures presenting conditions requiring needs, (but limited to) photodermatoses (polymorphic light eruption, porphyrias); inflammatory dermatoses (atopic dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis); pigmentation disorders (hyperpigmentation, vitiligo), photoaging, pre-cancerous lesions cancers, photosensitive sensitized (patients undergoing drugs treatments skin-related procedures), ensuring choice personalized susceptible groups within general population.

Determining Patient Similarity in Medical Social Networks
In social networks the primary concern of people is to find others who share similar interests. For medical systems this means finding people who have similar symptoms or comparable diseases. Here a simple matching of variables would lead to a very small number of identical cases and determining similarity would usually fail due to the categorical nature of most factors. In particular, such pro...

Background: Reliable estimation of radiation-absorbed dose is necessary to evaluate the benefits and the risks of radiopharmaceuticals used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes in nuclear medicine. Materiel and Methods: This study included 47 patients treated with iodine-131 for Graves’ disease. A comparative study between Geant4 Monte Carlo simulation and MIRD formalism was carried out to ev...
متن کاملLeveraging Patient Similarity Analytics in Personalized Medical Decision Support System
Patient similarity analytics harness the information wealth of electronic medical record (EMR) for supporting medical decision making. Finding a group of patients having similar features (for example, similar lab results or similar diagnoses), helps medical staff with treatment decisions or health predictions. There are different approaches for patient similarity metrics (PSMs) as described by ...

متن کاملDetermining optimal medical image compression: psychometric and image distortion analysis
BACKGROUND Storage issues and bandwidth over networks have led to a need to optimally compress medical imaging files while leaving clinical image quality uncompromised. METHODS To determine the range of clinically acceptable medical image compression across multiple modalities (CT, MR, and XR), we performed psychometric analysis of image distortion thresholds using physician readers and also ...
